Le Seuil de Mazeyres 2021
Management: Alain Moueix
Technical Manager: Jean-Michel Bernard / Thomas Cézac

Weather Conditions During the Vintage
2021 began with a milder and much wetter winter than average, continuing the trend from 2020. Budbreak was uniform, steady, and early. After a very cold and dry spring, severe frosts on April 7 destroyed 25% of the harvest at Château Mazeyres. Through the end of April, temperatures remained low and growth slowed. The weather turned rainy in May. Unstable, stormy weather between mid-June and mid-July led to downy mildew pressure, which we managed to control through constant monitoring of the vineyards. The four dry weeks at the end of August were crucial for the ripening of the grapes.
