VINTAGES
Le Seuil de Mazeyres 2013
Management: Alain Moueix
Technical Manager: Jean-Michel Bernard / Ludovic Guibert
Weather Conditions During the Vintage
Winter and early spring were cold, with slightly above-average rainfall, which caused a delay in vegetative growth. Rainfall was heavy in May and June. The heavy rains around the time of flowering led to exceptional levels of fruit drop and small berry size. Summer, although late, was hot and sunny, with frequent thunderstorms in July and early August. Veraison was slow to set in due to moisture in the soil. Fall was wet. It was necessary to bring forward the harvest on certain plots, as the grapes became highly susceptible to gray mold as they approached optimal ripeness.

Tasting
The wine has a medium-intensity brick-red color with aromas of white peach, pomegranate, and gingerbread, along with tart and minty notes. It is soft on the palate at first, then develops a lovely freshness. The finish is licorice-like and builds in intensity.
