Château Mazeyres 2021
Management: Alain Moueix
Technical Manager: Jean-Michel Bernard / Thomas Cézac
Communications: Stéphany Lesaint
Weather Conditions During the Vintage
2021 began with a milder and much wetter-than-average winter, continuing the trend from 2020. Budbreak was uniform, steady, and early. After a very cold and dry spring, severe frosts on April 7 destroyed 25% of the harvest in Mazeyres. Temperatures remained low through the end of April, slowing growth. The weather turned rainy in May. Unstable, stormy conditions between mid-June and mid-July led to a risk of downy mildew, which we managed to control through constant monitoring of the vineyards. The four dry weeks at the end of August were crucial for the ripening of the grapes.
