VINTAGES
Château Mazeyres 2015
Management: Alain Moueix
Technical Manager: Jean-Michel Bernard / Ludovic Guibert
Weather Conditions During the Vintage
2015 saw very distinct seasons. A mild spring followed a cold, wet winter. Flowering benefited from favorable conditions, as June was dry and warm. July, which was just as summery, brought an early halt to the vines’ growth. Thunderstorms in August and early September prevented the vines from stalling and kept the vintage from developing an overly pronounced sunny character. The harvest began in mid-September and took place under pleasant conditions.

Tasting
The color is a deep purplish red. With beautiful aromatic intensity, the nose is fresh, precise, pure, and complex. It takes us on a journey from fruit—blackberry and blueberry—to peppermint. Blond tobacco, forest floor, and licorice also contribute to the wine’s flavor profile. The whole is enveloped in very refreshing marine notes. On the palate, the supple and smooth attack builds in the mid-palate with a full-bodied, highly textured, and velvety structure. The finish is long and fresh.
