Weather conditions

The spring was cold and rainy. The vines were late to get going and there were difficult conditions for flowering. July was exceptionally cool, but the second half of the month was dry. Warm weather set in during August, with a period of searing heat from the 15th. September was summery and autumn did not appear until the last few days of the month.

Tasting notes

The wine has an intense colour. The hugely delicate nose reveals liquorice and clove notes over a base of honeyed gingerbread. Hugely unctuous on the palate. A soft framework of tannins with a refined texture. The wine has a pleasingly upright structure paired with a generous texture. The finish is lingering, warming and elegant with the fresh fruit returning in lovely form.
