Weather conditions

The winter and early spring were cold with rainfall slightly above average, slowing the growth cycle. There were significant levels of rain in May and June. The heavy rainfall around flowering (more than 120 mm in a week in some places) resulted in exceptional levels of fruit drop and shot berries. The summer, although late to arrive, was hot and sunny with major storm activity in July and early August. Veraison took some time to emerge due to the water content in the soil. The autumn was damp. The harvest had to be brought forward in some plots because the grapes were becoming very sensitive to grey rot as they reached optimum ripeness.

Tasting notes

A raspberry red colour with hints of purple. Beautifully intense and refreshing on the nose. It offers up aromas of fresh fruit (wild strawberry, cherry) and delicate spice (white pepper). On the palate, the wine has a delicate touch and a soft tannic framework. The wine as a whole is wonderfully fresh with a radiant, fruity finish. A particularly enjoyable, elegant example from this delicate vintage.
