The season began with favourable conditions and early budding. Flowering took place during a dry, sunny June. The summer was more chaotic, cooler and stormier. The vines hit delays, and veraison was spread out over a long period of time. From late August onwards, particularly hot weather set in for a significant period, culminating in an unusually mild end to the season. There was significant temperature variance, helping to ripen the pips and skins. A beautifully clear, bright red colour. Fresh on the nose with a range of red fruit, almond, pepper and gingerbread crust notes. On the palate, it is unctuous and fruity in the attack before developing a certain richness. The finish keeps its promises of freshness, with refined tannins and lingering fresh fruit.
